Health |
| ICR's work
in mental health research focuses on populations
that are often ignored by other mental health resources
and services. Our research includes discovering
the resource needs of communities as well as testing
education strategies and improving the availability
of mental health services. |

| HIV/AIDS |
| Our
HIV/AIDS projects examine the ways in which HIV
is transmitted through various populations and networks,
and determines or tests prevention and intervention
strategies for HIV/AIDS reduction, particularly
among high-risk populations that often are missed
by other prevention and education efforts. The projects
also evaluate factors that can impact an individual's
risk behavior, including social networks and community,
substance use, and social and psychological well-being. |

| Substance
Abuse |
| ICR's
Substance Abuse projects address issues facing active
drug users, often evaluating the health risks associated
with drug use. Our projects analyze drug trends
within a particular geographic or ethnic group,
and the social and economic factors influencing
an individual's drug use. We also test prevention
and education interventions for their effectiveness. |

| General
Health |
| ICR's
health projects work with community partners to
identify and address health concerns such as diabetes,
obesity and alzheimers, and how such concerns impact
various populations and ages. Projects evaluate
factors associated with such health risks and seek
to expand services for underserved or traditionally
ignored populations |
