Action Research Training and Evaluation programs
use action research training as a tool for personal,
group and community development and change. Projects
work with youth in our Youth Action Research Institute
and with adult residents through the Resident Engagement
project. Regardless of the population these programs
promote the use of community-led action research
for risk prevention, community development, family
strengthening and social change. |

| ICR researchers write articles in peer-reviewed journals and other publications. We have also developed Participatory Action Research curricula for girls, through the Urban Women Against Substance Abuse (UWASA) research and development project, and for youth, through the Youth Action Research Institute (formerly the National Teen Action Research Center). The Ethnographer's Toolkit is a step-by-step guide to designing and conducting research that seeks to understand human beliefs and behaviors from the point of view of the participants themselves. |
