Paper Presentation

Paper presentations allow one or more presenters to present and discuss their research, theory, methodology, or case study to an audience. There is usually time for questions and answers following the presenation(s).

Workshop

Workshops provide an interactive, hands-on experience for attendees, where they leave with either handouts or skills they can use in their work.

Training

An individual or group provides a clearly defined set of skills for participants. This usually involves some interaction/experiential learning activities.

Video, slide show, or other multimedia

These presentations incorporate some multimedia into a presentation/discussion. They provide the basis or context for further discussion.

Games

Games are interactive sessions in which the experience - or game - helps to illicit discussion and understanding of a specific topic, theory, method or skill.

Interactive roundtable discussion

The session organizer is more of a facilitator of a discussion on a specific topic that is of interest to attendees. The organizer helps to move the conversation forward, and may begin the session with a very brief opening, or series of questions that provide the basis for the conversation with all participants.

Debate

The debate format bring two or more individuals from different points of view to discuss a particular issue. The audience can either pose questions to the individuals involved in the debate or can observe the discussion.
