Crossroads II: Community-Based Collaborative Research
for Social Justice
Hartford, CT | June 7-9, 2007
PRE-CONFERENCE TOURS OF HARTFORD
The Institute for Community Research organized a community bus
tour to highlight our local research partnerships and present concrete
examples of how communities use CBCR for social justice in the arenas of
health, education and the arts. The tour focused on the
conference's main tracks: Root Causes of Inequities, Translating
Interventions, and Integrating Arts and Research. While exploring
Hartford's diverse ethnic communities and neighborhoods, the tour
visited community organizations such as The Hispanic Health Council, La Paloma Sabanera, and the Capital Region Mental Health Center. Attendees learned about the work
of the agencies and their partnerships with ICR. The tour finished with a follow-up discussion at ICR. The tour took place on Thursday, June 7, 2007, from
9:00 am - 3:00 pm, and the fee (including lunch) was $30.
