Kim Radda

Kim Radda, RN, MA, is an anthropologist and registered nurse. She has conducted extensive community-based research on substance abuse, HIV/AIDS among drug users and members of their social networks, and the health and mental health of older adults. Kim is currently Project Director on V.I.P.: Vaccinate for Influenza Prevention study and Co-Investigator on Longitudinal Study of the RAP Peer Intervention for HIV Prevention. Before coming to ICR Kim worked as a nurse in the Emergency Department of Windham Community Memorial Hospital.  She also taught courses in Anthropology, Latin American Studies and Medical Terminology at the University of Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut State University, and Quinebaug Valley Community College, and conducted research on rural women’s economic roles in Mexico. Her research interests include HIV/AIDS prevention, substance abuse, the relationship of spirituality and health, arts-based interventions, and health/mental health of older adults and the socioeconomics of health care in the U.S. and Latin America.
